I get a lot of nose bleeds and I find the best "cure" to stop the bleeding is to actually SNORT out the blood clot. I lean above the sink and snort one nostril and with the blood comes a large stickier mass of blood. Almost instantaneously the bleeding has stopped. Anyone else do this? I read a lot of people apply pressuer for 30+ minutes and tilt the head forward and or contort the body so the head is below the heart. I find the snort technique to work the best.

-- I only get a bloody nose if I pick aggressively. I'm just wondering why people take such passive measures when a quick BLOW gets ride of the problem in seconds.

Its gross but I also do that. I get nose bleeds in the summer and I find bending over the sink and blowing my nose into a tissue gently gets that clot out. I get sick if the blood goes down my throat, and that happens when I tilt my head back.

Gross huh?

I understand this may work for you but actualy blowing your nose is causing more damage to the blood vessel in your nose that is causing the bleed as it is already aggravated you are just forcing more blood out of the burst vessel as you could create a bigger hole so do be careful id be horrified if my son did that he is only 10 and gets a lot of nose bleeds throughout the summer and when he is stressed out, the best cure is to apply a cool cloth on the bridge of nose pinch and hold till the bleeding stops the coolness helps the swelled vessel go down and stops the bleeding. But if this works for you go for it but it may not help the problem in the long term.

I've never heard of this technique before. But if you get a lot of nose bleeds, do you know why? You should go to the Doctor to find out why you get them so frequently.

the proper way is to put a tissue over the nose and tilt face forward and wait for bleeding to stop.

If you get them a lot then an ear, nose and throat specialist can cottarize the blood vessels in your nose and that might help.

Wet a little piece of tissue and put it under your upper lip. Pinch the upper bridge of your nose. Then wait.

nose bleeds are often a sign of illness, and i think you should see a doctor, because it may only be a symptom of something worse, unless you just like to fight or something.
