Your serial # would indicate a production date of 1907. This is a very desirable collector firearm with a value between $2000 and $15000 or higher.
Condition is everything. Get it professionally appraised and write Colt for the history (they charge a fee). If you don't have it insured , you should.
The gun may be safe to shoot but I wouldn't recommend it as further use may decrease it's value.

The Hawes? Not a lot of info on it but I'm confident it's worth $125-$275.

Bound's hubby here:

Concerning whether your revolver... you need to take it to a gunsmith for a physical inspection. The gunsmith will physically check the headspace on each chamber, the timing, the cylinder lock-up, the cylinder gap, and the bore condition.

The value on single action Colts is up in the air. It really needs to be appraised. A historical letter from Colt for your revolver, if one can be obtained, will add significantly to it's value. Values on replica guns are generally low.

Colt's archive research dept. will do it for a price. http://www.coltsmfg.com/cmci/historical.asp

For a real estimate you need to have it appraised professionally. The Italian copy? Check the gun blue book for price
