There was something else going on with him. If she did not ask about his feelings nor make sexual advances maybe he felt rejected. More so because of cultural differences and that he came to visit her from a distance. Perhaps to save face he made this off-putting comment--like Aesop's...The Fox and The Grapes.
Oh...and his statement is not normal. It is unproductive and tactless. I would have asked him..."And you're telling me this because..."

Obviously the chemistry between them is not there. There must be some form of body language that the guy must have picked up or misunderstood during the 10 days that he makes the comment. Anyway, at least he was frank enough to bring it up. However, most guys will just not mentioned it totally to save all the embarassment.

i does no longer say it is easy even yet it is actual looking, wide-spread behaviour. If the girl is 20 then a minimum of she isn't a young person and could have a minimum of an straight forward quantity of trouble-free experience. females have crushes on instructors. i think of it is via the fact a woman likes to locate somebody who's deeper and much less stupid than her friends.

Its not normal though.. but there are other things as well to get attracted to. Like if the girl is really beautiful but the guy feels she is not compatible to him, he may not be attracted.

Well, his feeling probably changed, He may be being honest. I would tell the new girl to dump him and find a man with whom there is an attraction

He may be intimidated by her looks and doesn't think he is good enough for her. Sometimes guys feel that way towards a beautiful woman. Why I don't know, especially if she liked him he should have been lucky! His loss!

Well, based on the way that you said it, it sounds awkward, but it is normal for a guy to tell a girl that he just wants to be friends (which is what he said, now isn't it?).

Maybe he thought he should have sex with her if he couldn't find any reasons. But he still seemed to be very strange to tell her he was not attracted.
