Well, not sure if there is an actual census taken on national shoplifting rates, but I do know that businesses did see a minor decline in sales for regions in the Western states. Now if this is related to their marches, who knows. As for the hatefilled answers you received, people need to realize that the affects illegal have on our economy is far less that the drain legal citizens have on our social services. It's easy to hate people as a whole and not look in the mirror and face the true reality that we cause much of our own national disfunction. Don't these people watch the news?

If it did hurt the economy, the news probably would not report it. I can not see how those many workers not working that day could not hurt the economy.
Someone answered by calling them illegal Aliens- there is no such thing as their being Aliens- Aliens are from another planet- Mexico does not come under that catagory. Because some foolish news person used that word, many Americans jumped on the band wagon, which shows how we can be influenced.

No. Just think about it. If you think they shoplift, they would do that outside of work. (Just think about the definition of shoplifting.) So if that's the case, wouldn't they have had more time to shoplift since they weren't at work. (Just going with your hypothetical theory. I'm not saying that they actually do that.)

I did not realise america was still such a rascist society. But just a thought occurred, perhaps since the Mexican housekeepers and nannies were on strike Mom could not go to the shops to shoplift ???

Yeah your right. Next time they want to wave their Mexican flags let them wave it back across the border where they belong. They have no right cowardly sneaking into this country demanding anything. THEY ARE CRIMINALS. They have no rights here except the right to get the hell out!!!!!!!!!! and take the ACLU with them

Yes, that's the way I heard it. I heard a lot of people asking if every day could be a "day without an illegal immigrant."
