I'm trying to find out how far each of Washington, DC's law schools are from the subway line (Metro). Can anyone tell me how far each of the six law schools are from the subway line and/or inform me of a method or a mapping web site that allows one to display simultaneously both the universities within a city as well as ground transportation options (ie- train bus lines and subway). I noticed that with Yahoo maps you can display either the universities within a city OR the transportation options, but you cannot display both of these options simultaneously. I'm trying to find a way to overlay the two together on one map.

The best answer award will be given to the person that goes the extra mile and is able to give me the data and the source I need.

I go to George Washington and the school is located directly off of the Foggy Bottom metro. The law buildings are maybe a 4 block walk. I'd recommend checking out this link for the metro map: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm

Most of the universities that are very near a metro are designated in the metro stop name. You'll see Catholic University of America designated as CUA on the red line, U of MD on the green line, GWU on the orange and blue lines, and more. Georgetown is not on the metro. There is a bus that runs there though, just not as inconvenient. If you are interested in learning more about a specific university, just let me know and I'll look it up. I live here in the DC area (arlington specifically). My email is funfirefly26@yahoo.com

I'd say all the DC law schools are near metro stations. Really the city is amazingly accessible (via subway and bus) - so you don't worry too much about getting around town.

Also - keep in mind that some schools may seem far from metro stations -but they're easily accessible. The American University Washington College of Law is within walking distance of the AU tenleytown station - but there are also FREE shuttles that run day and night to the station (if you don't want to walk). http://www.wcl.american.edu/ It's a nice place to go to school (I went to AU) because the neighborhood is very safe and quiet - unlike the more hectic downtown atmosphere.

The more "downtown" law schools are Georgetown and George Washington - both of which are accessible to everything.

If I were you - I'd focus more on what academics you want - what school you find fits you the best - and not worry so much about subway access. Because like I said - basically everything in DC is accessible.
