I did not have time to spend much time w/ her for the past 4yrs. She is so lovely and I would like to be a better parent.

So do it. Get involved in her life, visit her, MAKE time to be an influential parent. That is the only way to get closer to her. You've already wasted too much time.

Play board games with her, or make a story with her. You start with one or two lines of the beginning of a story, and then she make up what happens next. Then you take turns to make a one story together. She probably does not read yet, but children love doing it as a bed time story.

i think your daughter is not in your priority. Mind it our 1st priority always get fulfilled and when you realize it is your 1st priority you will get time.
