Is this the beginning of a new type of world war based on the "crusades paradign" being escalated on a golbal scale?

Some would argue that the crusades have actually never ended and we have a really short term memory historically speaking.

Are we on the verge of these two dogmatic systems which are dependantly polarized flushing 10,000 years of civilization down the toilet?

What can be done to stop these friking fundementalists...and I mean both sides before they drag us all into their "self fulfilled" prophetic armegeddon?

A lot of you have said that Christainity has been peaceful. I may submit to you that Christainity in the not so distant past was very militant...it is now in a superior position where it usually doesn't need to use direct conflict to carry out its causes. There are also still countries which are very Chritain in their overall make up which use the justification of their "superior" moral high ground to attack another countries. There are always two sides to every coin.

Yes, we are.. the only way to stop it, is for the people of the Nations involved to all agree to disagree. This would take all citizens to have to peacefully protest. Work would have to stop on that day, and on both sides of the world, the people would have to say," No more WAR!!!!

It wouldn't be a war between Islam and christianity, but a war between Islam and Catholicism. Mainstream protestants have always been peaceful as a whole

Jihadhi is present in one among the religion which is the only threat to the world, if that religion relaxed it there is no chance for a war. More than above christians dont want to do a war for its religion, they are faith in christ and trust in christ not in the ideology to kill people. Hence correction should be made in a ideology of onely one religion and only one componenet, if they have relaxed you could see a peaceful and fearless world.

dharmabear,
I think that you are being right in assuming that Muslims are a problem. But you are being inaccurate with "Christians." There are no "Christian" armies over there. And there are no "Christian" armies that are gathering.

It's like the Freeworld against the minions of Sauron.
