It would be nice if any professionals or parents can provide some specific remedy or examples.

what I need is more than just sitting straight in the class. what I need is to let them absorb what the teacher taught. I do not want the answer "I donot know" when I ask them "what the teacher taught today?"

Oops, I forgot to tell, I am a parent. And I was a teacher in university before. But I have never handle kids before, so .....

The real problem is in training the teachers. You shouldn't even be asking this, if you have been properly trained to "teach". If the curriculum is of any value in the first place, it need only be presented in an interesting enough manner to get the attention of those young heads full of mush so as to hold their interest. That will depend on what grade level you plan to teach, one grades "fun" is another grades "boredom".
