If all you're worried about is your pride, let it go - all you will have is a false sense of pride because you know in your heart that he was going to break up with you anyways, so its just a way of lying to yourself.
If you are really interested in being the better person, then just stay calm through out the whole thing and be the classy, mature person. That way you have not only stayed on the high road, but maybe planted a seed in his mind about whether or not he was wrong to leave someone like you.

This has happened to me before and I let it happen, But if I could go back yea I would dump him first it would have saved me a lot of bad-*** remarks and teasings. Besides personally I dont believe in the whole who dumped who thing to me it doesnt really matter but if its going to be presented in court (in a matter of speaking) its best to have the more assured end.
