if an American cities wants to care for Mexican citizens... shouldnt mexico pay for their peoples education and hospitalization- IE welfare?

1. It is settled law that you can't pick and choose in paying your tax. You pay all your taxes or you go to jail.
2. It is rather obvious that (a) denying education and public health to American citizen children is unconstitutional (thus sayeth the Supreme Court) and (b) denying education and public heath to children who are going to grow up in America is to make a goodly proportion of future American adults (i) sickly and (ii) ignorant and unemployable.
3. If you want to deny care for TB, STDs and other communicable diseases then you are inviting those diseases into your community and into your life.
4. The USA doesn't even give Medicare -- paid for by workers taxes -- to American citizens retired to or visiting in Mexico. Why should Mexico do otherwise, unless there is a multilateral agreement like that in the European Union?

Yes Mexico should pay for the up keep of illegals, but their government is so corrupt it will never happen. The first thing Mexico should pay for is a bus ticket back home for them

It's not the cities fault. They are following laws. If anything we should protest or something. Homeless food and Shelter, College education scholarships, Free drug rehab centers. I can think of alot of things that tax money can be spent on besides illegals.

It's a national matter bonehead.
If they show up at your house and refuse to leave - I guess you wouldn't call any government agencies for some kind of help.
And, good luck getting money from Mexico. These people are here because there is no money there to be had.
I guess it would be your responsibility to feed and take care of everyone. I mean, they are at your house - that must mean you invited them.

That is a good question, however I don't think that would help the problem. I think that if Mexicans are going to come over here, the least that they could do would be TRY to assimilate. They seem to be the only culture that is making everyone here learn Spanish...instead of the other way around. If Mexico is sooo great, then why the hell are you here? :-)

I agree. If they declare themselves as being havens for illegal immigrants, then they should not get federal or state money to help them support their illegals.

You have no choice. State taxes are paid by individuals at the point of sale and with the state income tax return. Tough luck.
