Why don't Atheists thank Christians and Jews for getting them weekends off and a few other holidays? Man, you think that after all of the complaining that they would at least say... "Thanks for the days off..."

In Australia we get a day off for Melbourne Cup which is a horse race, the Queen's birthday, the banking industry gets the Bank Holiday, the metalurgy industry get the Metalurgy Picnic Day, we get a Labour Day and a New Years' Day as holidays.

But according to the holy book God created the earth in 6 days and take day off in the seventh day i.e. he was working 6 days/week with only 1 day off. Now the holy book should read created the earth in 5 days and took 2 days off. may be with the improve in the technology in the future he well be creating the earth in 4 days and taking 3 days off. I wonder when well he be laid off.
Thanks any way.

I don't get my religions holidays off but I'm forced to not get paid on your holy days? I know many people who would rather take a days paycheck.

So thanks a bunch

P.S. Christmas & Easter are ripoffs of Pagan holidays, so why don't you go around and thank some Pagans.

Lol. You think if Christians and Jews weren't around that we wouldn't have days off? You're insane.

If Christianity and Judaism never evolved, some other religion would have. And we'd have their holy days off.

And if no religion ever came around, or if all the religions were suddenly wiped out, we'd still have national holidays.

So, no, I don't thank you. I thank society for recognizing that people can't work all the freakin' time without a break.

Well if you weigh a few holidays against hundreds of millions of murders, I think religion still has an overall negative effect.

There's a man sitting by a lake when a guy in a flowing white robe walks by.....who are you asks the guy?
I'm Jesus, replies the man.
Prove it says the guy
So Jesus walks out on top of the lake. at first it was ok but slowly he started to sink
See!! shouts the guy , i knew you weren’t Jesus
Jesus say, "I used to be able to do this before they put these holes in my feet."

You do know that so-called christian holidays, All-saints' day, christmas, easter etc are just rehashings of old pagan festivals?

Please tell me that you are aware of that?
