she calls me and sounded all sweet but both me and her know that it is only a show however my best friend doesn't understand. so after she calls me he comes on line and acts like everything is cool and so i went off on him on how i will be nice to his girlfriend and stuff but i don't want to be around her if i don't have to be. (we are usually open with eachother so he knows that i still like him we were together for six months before he started dating this new girl) he didn't seem upset he said that he was glad that i finally said what i meant. then he said that when i come and visited him it would be just me and him and that he wanted to hug me... and more. then before he signed off he said "love you" i am terribly confused why does he talk to his girlfriend about me and where do i stand in this whole mess? some one help me and please if you can don't just give a short answer because for me this is really complicated and i just don't understand him

Your in an emotional triangle the only way you will feel better is to find a new best freind.Look I realize you probably love this guy but he is not available so be his freind dont be alone with him or you set yourself up for heartache.He seems confused so you will be giving yourself dignity if you just start avoiding him.If they break up you do not want to get the blame so just avoid both of them and then if you bump into them be freindly but keep moving.If they break then you can think about him.But right now he belongs to someone else and your better than that.Make lots more freinds to hang with.It will help.

He is just trying to have the best of both worlds.
But hanging you on the line, he could have 2 and not just 1 girlfriend. When A is not free, he could go out with B and vice versa.
Him talking about you to his current girlfriend is just casting a safety net under him in his current relationship. With that, the next time the girlfriend catch him out with you, he could simply say
" I did tell you about her in the first place right?"
That would save his a**, his girlfriend would then feel that she is just making nonsense and life goes on.
Best part of it is, he could still get to bed 2 girls for free and whenever he wants. All he needs is to say "Love you".
Now, is that what you are confused about?

Then specific call her this very 2d! yet ask her why she called you simply by fact if she purely needed help on math homework, (as an occasion,) then you definately do no longer prefer to sound stupid and bounce impressive in. yet you extra constructive no longer be a jerk to her back! If she would not take you back it is your fault for hurting her
