Because the priests can not get married and have children of his own. When he sees family loving each other and having someone who care about one person just simply makes that person happy. Priests are very lonely and don't have anyone for him to love, so nowadays priests tends to break their vow because they want to know how it feels to be sexually attractive and be needed and accepted in todays society. Who would want to be lonely and have no partner and no family in their life? No one. And besides women can't be priests so that leaves to men only. Other denomination allows women and men to be pastor and have a family of their own. If I was a priest or pastor, I would prefer not to be Catholic.

I am not sure what you mean, but priests are keeping a lower profile these days, being more cautious, not putting themselves in a position where someone could take advantage and falsely accuse them of wrongdoing.
All the publicity about homosexuality and pedophilia in the priesthood is causing that caution. and, I am sure it has made more than one person who might have considered the priesthood to think twice, for fear of getting painted with the same brush. We all know there are good priests out there, who are straight, and who do not "play" with little children, or break their vows in other ways. it is just that they do not get the publicity.
It is affecting everyone who's job it is to counsel. Teachers, social workers, Protestant clergy, medical personnel, all have that on their minds when they speak with a client/patient/student. How easily a comforting hand on a shoulder might be misinterpreted, and result in a scandal.
Society can not seem to understand that a true professional can and does remove the sexual element from their care, and if that element needs to be addressed, can do so in a professional, compassionate way that does not make the situation into a sexy talk or a sex act. And trust me, in my professional life, patients have made comments that that told me they were not understanding the distinction.

Pedophiles are becoming increasingly smarter now... it used to be a no brainer for them join the priesthood and have their harem of boys, now catholic preists are either getting caught doing it to the poor boys or getting done with a broom in prison...

Those priests who got caught really ruined a good thing for the priesthood... advertisement and recruiting used to be an unheard of thing.. now the church not only has to pay for the all those ad campaigns but they also have to supply more sexy form-fitting robes for the boys so as to entice would-be priests...

No one wants to join the priesthood anymore. It's too oppressive.
