The cool part is how Jesus obtained the office of "Mediator Between God and Man".
The High Priest of Israel represented God to the people, and the people to God.
At the time of Jesus, Pilate was having a hard time getting Annas the High Priest to cooperate in getting his agenda carried out. Subduing Jews is like herding cats, it just isn't easy without the top dog's cooperation.
At Jesus' trial, Annas was the one having a hard time getting Pilate to cooperate. Pilate "found no fault" with Jesus, and was about to release Him.
It was then that Annas transferred the office of "Mediator between God and Man" to Rome by his pronouncement "We have no King but Caesar". This persuaded Pilate to go along with Annas, but the price was a heavy one. Annas had transferred the office of "Mediator between God and Man" to Caesar in particular, Rome in general, Pilate as present overseer.
Pilate, in order to twist the knife a bit, made the accusation against Jesus to be: "This IS the King of the Jews". Owning the office of the High Priest, he had the authority to declare a King in Israel. Jesus was coroneted by Roman soldiers, a scepter was placed in his hands, a royal robe put upon him.
I don't think Pilate realized the implications of what he had done, but Jesus was found GUILTY of BEING the King of the Jews, and the proof was that he was executed for this charge. It was his execution for this charge that transferred the title to Jesus that Rome had acquired earlier that day from the pronouncement of the High Priest.
Jesus is NOW King of the Jews and Mediator between God and Man.
Not only that, but by his death he purchased the office of the Firstborn of all creation from Adam as Jacob purchased the office from Esau.
Now all men everywhere owe him obeisance.
Pretty awesome, eh

Do those of you who do NOT believe realize that when you die - and face God - you will have NO excuse? You can't possibly claim that you never even heard of what the questioner is stating. So really - for YOUR sake - you just MIGHT want to consider the possibility that Jesus really IS the 'gap' between the world and God. But if you don't - what will your excuse be? You can't possibly claim that you never heard of such a thing. And I doubt that God will except as an excuse the idea that you chose not to believe in HIM [and His Son] because of what some HUMANS might have said and done. "I rejected you God because my Aunt Mary said she believed in you and SHE was horrible!!"
Just a thought. Try not to be too frightened by it.
It should be noted that a Christian is NO BETTER than any other person. They just acknowledge that fact - and accept that without God - they have no hope.
Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

To consider Jesus as the bridge to God is very faulty thinking. God is omnipotent. He does not need any bridge or anyone to die in order to offer you salvation. Jesus was therefore lying when he said he was necessary for your salvation. Actually Jesus was a cult leader as he demanded hatred of your relatives if you wanted to be his disciple. He boasted of his power to cut familty relationships of his followers.
Ezekiel 18 is a good scripture to read if you want to obtain salvation and walk with God. If you read this chapter of the Old Testament, you will see that the New Testament was entirely unnecessary and is actually a lie.

Yes. When Adam sinned, it separated all humans from God. God sent his Son to bridge the gap between sinful mankind, and a holy God. Thank you Jesus!

I thought Jesus said look with in yourself for God and heaven ..
Most children think of a literal bridge and mis the point entirely . according to Jesus that leaves you as the real and final bridge...

Hosea 13:4 God identifies himself as the God who brought the Israelites out of bondage...and states that there is one and no other savior but him. One, not three. His word does not change. I believe that Christianity has brainwashed so many people for control. Just think about it. Would a loving and just God...our creator, punnish us to eternity in hell and damnation just for not believing in the story of Jesus. How can you possibly believe that with all the preachers on t.v. You know some are fake. So I believe that God will judge my heart. I do not need a fire and brimstone preacher or a tracks to tell me how to seek salvation. God created me in his image and loves me for me. He takes me as I am, sins and all. I don't need someone else. That would be sinful to God.
