I have a 6 year old female cat that is not (and never was) litter trained, since we recently moved to a new house the problem became even bigger, I don't even know where to start so any advice would be appreciated.

well the besst advice I can offer is this......cats are by nature not pigs, or shall I say they dont like to mess where they might have to step in it or eat by it.....so my reccommendation is this, to start try the basic method, of course supply your kitty w a clean litter box perferrably in a semi private but easy to locate area, say the bathroom, laundry room someplace like that....a lot pf cats prefer a hooded box as its more private & also this helps per mess wise as when they dig the flying litter doesnt go EVERYWHERE!!! make sure to put kitty in the box and keep doing so just so that she KNOWS where it is & just the feeling of litter under her feet will instinctivly give her the feeling of potty.....then if/when she uses the bathroom out of the box(and she probably will) simply pick her & the poop up & put them BOTH in the litter box, it might take a couple times & unfortunatly peepee isnt so simple but normally cats will get the drift & will prefer to use a litter box as they can burry thier excrament & leave it away form themselves & things like their food n such...best of luck hope it all works out!

Put her and her potty in the utility or bathroom and keep the door closed. She will use the potty there because it is a small room and she will only go in one place. Keep her food in the kitchen (or utility if she is kept in the bath). That way she will know that her food and poop must always be separate. If she makes a mistake when you let her out after a few days, pick her up and put her back in seclusion for a couple of more days and only let her out to eat again. She will train because she will hate being away from the family action-curiousity and the cat-You know! You just have to be more stubborn than the cat to get her to learn. She may think she has won when she gets out of the closed room but you have to be strict and put her back each time she poops where she isn't supposed to.Be assertive and she will know that you mean business! Best wishes!

I don't think you can. Cats train themselves. We've had many cats and all you have to do is show them where the litter box is. Problem solved. If your cat was raised to go outside and isn't getting the litter box thing, I think you're stuck. I hope someone can come up with an answer for you.

How can you litter train your cat?
cats are a very clean animal, and i don't know why it wont use the litter box after six years,
can it get to the box easy?
Also put a bit of its wee odour or doo in the box & gently scrape its paw
to cover it up, that may work if you do it a few times.
good luck

when she pootys in the floor pick it up and put it in the litter box.. then put her in the litter box so she can see it and smell it.. it could take a little while... keep the litter box in a place where she know and can get to it easly and keep it clean after a couple weeks she should get use to it and then you can move it anywhere just be sure to show her where it is

confine her to a small room with the litter box and some water and she will learn that she needs to go in there or she will be living in it

Just keep setting him in the box. She'll eventually get the idea. If you catch her "doing her duty", immediately pick up and put in box. They will eventuallly catch on. You must be consistent with this, do it every time. They will eventually get it. Indeed they will like it.

Learning how to train your dog will improve your life and hers, enhance the bond between you, and ensure her safety and it can be a lot of fun. Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes.
