The best thing you can do is to walk into a camera shop or a consumer durable dealer who sells handycams . Tell him your requirement (like how often you want to use it, how much money you can spend for it, if you have any media of storeage in your mind tell him that also) and ask him to show you different makes. Ask him to explain the technical terms which you do not understand. Choose one that suits you most. Hanydcams are available from Rs.15000 to 2-3 lakhs.

1) Sony DCRHD HRD-HC3 Mini DV Camcorder - this is the best but little expensive
2) Sony DCRDVD404 Camcorder - medium expensive but good
3) Canon DC10 DVD Camcorder - good and cost effective
4) Panasonic NVGS27B Mini DV Tape Camcorder - cheap but less features
5) Samsung VPD361 Mini DV Camcorder - cheapest but has decent features

Dont buy the mini "dvd" one!!! Pain in the but....been there. Buy the hardrive one.....no discs,or media!!!!
