Give the poor guy the chance to get to the store and do some window shopping. A big expense like an engagement ring isn't something that you want to buy the first thing you find.

Is that impatience or fear I hear? If you do not know the gentleman well enough to know if his promises are sincere, then really I would be thinking about should I have said yes. Two days is nothing. Not only did he have the sense to bring his intention to you to see if you were ready to accept it yet but he is with little doubt out pricing rings right now to see what is a good buy. That may take him a couple of weeks or it may take him a couple of months. Relax a little. Then there is the financing or the saving to allow time for and the right moment to give it. Now if 6 months went by without receiving it (and he may well intend to give it to you for Christmas-alot of men do that even tho some women view that as tacky because then it
usually ends up being their Christmas present too) -6 months, I would expect at least to hear more about it or count it a lost cause then. The question I would ask tho is did you say anything to pressure him for a ring. If that is the case it is also a mistake. Men have to do the pressuring and he may not have been ready to.
In that scenario he could just be making the promise with no intention of following through or you may not have known him a long time and he is only promising to eventually get you one. I wish you had given me more information. Anyway, have a little more patience-the things we have to wait for are the most appreciated and if we have to wait beyond a time of reason they are things we often should forget about. I hope that helped explain the situation.

2 days isn't a very long time. Wait a while longer and see what happens.

he probably needs some time .. relax and give him the time he needs .. it's nothing like that, if he's serious and true, he'll come with the ring
