Hi, has anybody been to Pattaya and Bangkok? If yes, what is the best thing about these places? If you are planning to buy something there which are the things that can give a good value for your money? Thanks in advance.

bangkok is shopping and eating and joining tour groups. Cant rememebr the name of the place, but the plavce where the king resides is worth seeing. also take a trip to a place where cambodians rule. i cannot remember what the place is called.. but great great place. pattaya is more for the beach, relaxing.

It's very easy to get to Bangkok from Pattaya either by bus or taxi. The bus is much less expensive, about 120 baht or so, I think the best way is to take the bus from Pattaya to the Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok (Ekkamai) which is located next to the Skytrain (BTS) right off Sukhumvit Rd. in Bangkok, it's faster and more convenient than the bus that goes to Mo Chit. The bus station in Pattaya is located on North Pattaya Rd. and has buses departing frequently to Bangkok with few or no stops and takes about 2 hours. You can also hire a taxi in either direction for about 1,200 baht or so each way, if you choose to take a taxi be sure to negotiate the fare before you go. It should be no problem to leave in the morning and return at night to Pattaya, just be sure you don't miss the last bus. Have fun.

The best thing about Pattaya I liked is teh body massage. it is an exotic feeling when the masseur slithers on you like a snake. It is a must do. If you are a beer man the local Singha beer is a must drink. Also all those exotic cocktails you get are awesome. Best thing they do not burn your pockets. Everything - from wine to women are real good and low cost.
Things worth buying include mainly wooden artifacts, furnitures etc. Make a trip to the floating market. it is a nice way to spend your day (when the bars and the bar girls are sleeping)
Everything about Pattaya is value for money. Bangkok is very much like any other metro city worldwide. But it also has all these massage parlors and discos and go-go bars to choose from.
When in Pattaya, visit the SabaiDee Massage parlor and in Bangkok, go to the Cleopatra - they have some of the prettiest and sexiest girls on offer.

Bangkok and Pattaya are good places to visit. There are lots of shopping centers in Bangkok to name a few Pratunam Market, Pantip Plaza (Biggest Electronic shopping complex, here you name it, you get it.), Indira Market and so on..
Bangkok is also famous for its precious gem stones, there is a big gem stones shop in bangkok try to visit it. You can also visit Biggest sleeping budha in bangkok and also sitting budha which is entirely made of Gold.
You can also visit safari world, where you can see all kinds of wild animals.
You can also visit biggest natural garden in bangkok which has all kinds of plants and trees.
Pattaya is a Island, the best part in pattayya is you can go for coral island, water surfing, under sea and para sailing and some water adventure sports. Pattaya also has lots of good shopping centres where you get branded materials in less price.

well well, i've been to Bangkok and Pattaya in March. Well, Bangkok is ok.
Good guys go to heaven and Bad guys go to Pattaya...
It's full of ''P''. u know what i mean. and oh, Pattaya is more of a bar and clubs... Internet is so expensive there and it's so fuckin slow. haha. and I cant even swim there. coz it's not clean. so go to Phuket instead...
Bangkok is dusty though and u'll see a lot of ''P's' with old guys... hehehe.

Why don't you go out and buy a Lonely Planet book on Thailand. A very good investment that will lead you to your choice of places with excellent background and information.
