I looked it over and it seems great. Nissan makes a very good car but the Versa isn't a Nissan. It's actually a Renault Megane, that has been restyled like a Nissan and it's assembled in Mexico.
I believe it does use the Nissan engine from the Sentra.
Renault builds very comfortable and roomy cars, something they are famous for, as are all French cars. If you test drive one, I think you'll be in for a pleasant surprise if you're used to cramped, bumpy small cars.

My dad works in the car industry, and from what I've seen, Missans are pretty solid vehicles. I don't know about this particular model, but I think you can trust Nissan to be a pretty reliable franchise.

All cars are decent these days in terms of build quality, fit and finish, reliability, etc. It comes down to whether the car fits your needs, your price range/budget, etc. I personally think the Versa is ugly.....extremely ugly......hideously ugly...so if I were to use styling as my criteria for "decent" I would have to say no, its not.

Nissan has the right idea in designing their cars, they make some nice looking, nice performing vehicles. Check KBB.com or Edmunds.com for their reviews.
