Which you gave just a little more information, like how old and any loose stool?

Rule of thumb-if a dog is eating, drinking and no temp. he's safe for the moment. Realize that can change fast. He has no way of telling you what hurts. Any chance he's gotten into something while you were gone? Any mucus from the eyes, or nose. Any shaking of the head, which would indicate an ear issue. If you palpate the stomach area any tender spots or does he cry? Boy I think I asked more questions than you needed, but having a daughter as a Vet and owning and raising dogs for 30+years you learn. And you know sometime like you and me dogs have off days.

did you actually take his temperature? You cannot "feel" a fever on a dog...and their normal temperature is higher than ours. Offer him some water and see if he will drink it. Watch him tonight....does not sound like an emergency if there is no vomiting and he is eating okay...but if he does not get better tomorrow or gets worse...make a vet appointment for him. You did not mention his age which may be a clue as to what could be wrong with him....old dog, puppy? Good luck.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7IB

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

If he is eating and drinking water, it isn't an emergency. But I would take him to the vet and make sure. It could be weather related or he may be getting older. Sometimes they can suffer from depression, just like people. The best thing to do is to talk to your vet.

Could be depressed. I suggest giving him a good walk, and then a game of tug-o-war!... next time you have to leave him, mark the water level so you can tell if he's been drinking.

Of course you should be worried. If he is not his old self today you should monitor him closely. Maybe he ingested something. Call your local emergency veterinary services in your town to find out. I called many times when my dogs got sick. Good luck to you and your baby.
