Cell phone and text messages?

Question

Is it me or is something wrong with people in the 30-30 age bracket who are obsessed with their cell phones. I know one woman (ages 27) who is constantly texting people. For example, 3 people went to a bar tonight and she was text messaging ynder the table while we were there. is this as rude as i think it is?

whenever i'm with people, i try not to talk on the phone or text, at all.. only if its something important

If she disregarded one person in order to be sending many text messages that would be rude under most circumstances, but in a group of three she may have figured the other two could "talk amongst themselves" while she sent her messages. I don't think its a big deal, especially when you were at a bar. Text messages in a class or at someone's wedding would be a different thing.

Unless it gets to a point where there's no point being with her because she's somewhere else, just go with it. Its not a big deal. If she gets to be way too much with it then don't go out with her and tell her why.

im the same, as a deaf guy needs text messaging alot too. no way its not rude over that. she might have been chatting to deaf person too. they can listen to talking and texting at the same time... you cant stop the world from texting or COMPUTERS too

it is not if she is doing it on her own time and no one is talking to her. but if she keeps disrupting the conversation by texting then it is rude,
