...which is mainly supported by cultural biases based on familial relationships created by marriage.
Basis doesn't seem to make any sense used the way it is in this sentence. I think "base" would be a better word here and would make the sentence easier to understand. "Biases", as in the second example, would add a new word that you might not want to add.

I think it should be bias instead of basis.
