Hang in there, and pray for guidance, strength, and endurance from the Lord. He will not lead you astray, pray for the Holy Spirit to envelope you so that it will be easier for you to remain faithful to the Father. God Bless you on your journey, and may you find the peace of His love.

You can join up with some good sects in the Christian world, as Methodists, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians ( I think), and some others, but choose carefully since there are many that teach hate wrapped in a blanket of supposed love and acceptance.
I would first really research the religion you have chosen. Just don’t follow it blindly. Research the bible, and see if you are ok with all of it.
I researched the bible, and found out how many books they didn’t put in it since it didn’t fit what they liked, like the book that Mary Magdalene wrote herself, which painted a different picture of what was really happening at that time than what you see in the modern day bible.
Also if you go back to the original bible that they eventually voted on that was written in Aramaic, the language that Jesus spoke, you will see that there has been a lot added to it over the years. Any verse in the bible that generates hate, and ignorance, is not of God.
When King James translated the bible into English, he added verses to it to control his population more. The famous verses that he added are the ones you commonly see quoted that shoot down homosexuality.
Also the practice of modern day Christianity for the most part does not follow the old testament as Jesus had instructed. If you believe in the bible, you must believe that nothing in it is wrong. Therefore I ask you if you think selling your daughter into slavery is ok, as well as stoning disobedient children to death. Those are only two examples of the things that the old testament promotes, but Christians like to ignore, because it does not blend in well with the nice fuzzy loving God that they have made. God is the God of love, but He also made the feelings of anger and hate, without Him making them, they would not exist. He deemed them as good so long as they are used in the right manner. Hating evil, even though that is a contradiction in words, you understand the meaning.
There are many good things to be learned from the bible, but do not pick and choose what you read and believe, if you choose to believe the bible, you must believe that it is the word of God, and therefore is infallible, but to actually find the word of God in the bible is quite hard, even in the original one, as man has still put his impure fingerprint on the words.
I hope that you find what you are looking for, and also, I know some of the best Christians that have learned the greatest lesson, in order to accept others, research the other religions, find out what they have in common, and what separates them, so that you are not among the many ignorant and hateful people in the world, and make sure that you have chosen the religion that best meets your spiritual needs.

I am very happy for you. Now that you have asked Jesus into your heart you will have a sense of joy that you have never experienced before. Start by praying. Praying is the key to everything in this world. When you pray all those unhappy thoughts and negative feelings seem to vanish. Next I would find a church to go to. You'll know when you have found the right church because your church will seem like family to you. Don't be discouraged if you don't find the perfect church right away. It took me several years before I found the right church. Third I would find some on line sites about Christianity so you can further educate yourself on the subject. Change can be scary but change is sometimes necessary for eternal happiness, in which Jesus will give you.

if you are "Brand new" your mind is probably filled with many questions, there is alot you are unsure of.......

there isnt too much advice I alone can give, but i can give you a website link or two, that have helped me a great deal......

www.christiananswers.net give it a try, I'm sure it can help, this site literally has everything you need

if you ever have a specific topic you are unsure of, try www.bibleinfo.com.........they also take prayer requests......

another site i'd reccommend, is www.klove.com.... it's a worldwide christian radio station, they also have some resources for christian living.......

remember that faith is your most important tool, through faith in god all things are possible......

never forget that god is with you throughout the day, you don't have to be in church to seek him, you don't have to be on your knees by your bed at night to pray to him, he is there for you through all hours, even as you are heading to work/school, you can pray to him in the back of your mind and he will hear you.....

remember that being a christian, is living for "Him" and not yourself, hand your life to him and he will take care of you......

the only other i can say, is read, listen, pray and learn....... and have faith.......

Well, assuming that you are serious, congratulations! I must admit that I am still a bit skeptical, but, I am more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt if you are telling the truth! As for advice, make sure that you get a Bible, and begin reading it daily. This is very important. How can one be used to answer questions about the Bible if one has not read it? Unless you are using an actual yearly Bible, start reading in the New Testament. Go tell people about your decision, and begin to make Christian friends; attend a Christian church. Again, I still wonder if this is not just the "ultimate bashing on Christianity" for you, but also, I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. God bless!

My biggest help was reading a NIV bible, actually was the Woman's Daily Devotional, there were true inspirational stories from other women and it words it where u can read and understand it, now I am reading a study bible. Also, other believers helped me, I also went to a church that helped me. I went thru a terrible thing in my life, I walked in and caught someone trying to molest my child, thank God I stopped what was about to happen, that was a turning point in my life, He used me to stop something terrible from happening when I wasnt even following Him the way I should have been, oh I loved Him but I was not walking the right path, so for that I thank Him, my child doesnt remember anything, he was so young but if God had not intervened it would have been a whole different scenario.
I pray all the time, like talking to a friend, I read the bible every night before I go to bed, and have other people pray for me. I will be praying for you and feel free to email me if you ever need encouragement or just a friend to talk to ...

Find a bible believing church and try to start attending, read your bible if you dont have one yet, many people use the King James Version, but i personally read the New King James Version because it is easier to understand without the thees, and thous (old english), begin to ask God that he would begin to start speaking to you, There is some awesome worship music out there that can help you during a quiet time, In Matthew it says that when you pray in secret, God will bless you in open, but throughout the bible you see scripture about quiet time, or secret place. For me before I go to bed every night I just put on some worship music, for example, Shane and Shane, Jason Upton, Gateway Live, Hillsong United, so on and so forth, email me I can give you a list of some awesome praise and worship artist, but as you start to worhsip God read your bible and ask the lord to open you eyes and your heart so that you can understand what you are reading and that you would begin to be more and more like Jesus, that he would give you compassion for others, I will be praying for you. any personally questions you might have on how to do certain stuff just ask, but it shouldnt be difficult, We were made to worship and you will feel a peace and a freedom that you have never felt before when you start to worship, again just get in the Word (bible) and just ask God to give you a desire and ask him to help you out, he loves you and there are more people praying for you then you think, oh and being a christian doesnt turn you into a robot and it doesn't mean you cannot have fun, Once you begin to be obedient to God then you will find out that you do not want to sin agains him, will you yes, we all do, but as soon as you realize that you have sinned then just ask God to give you the strength not to do it again and that he would forgive you (he will), satan will begin to attack you with temptations and begin speaking to you about various negative things about you and about your situations, Just be strong and know that God will never leave you nor forsake you, If God is for us who can be against us. Again I will be praying for you and God Bless

Test everything. Jesus Christ himself said this so if someone tells you something about Christians or the Bible or God, read His word and test it for yourself. I'll be praying that He will give you the strength and courage necessary to follow Him, cause it won't be easy.
And for all those people who suggested reading the Bible, I'd say start it Romans it'll lay a great foundation.

Don't start reading in the back of the book like they tell ya, but start with page one in the front. I mean why bother with the begining of the book if its ignored? Page one is there for a reason, and it's the best place to start. Not in the back to begin reading with John or something.

Read your Bible, read genesis first 3 chapters, concentrate and pray before you read.

Then read chapter 20 of Exodus.

Then read the gospels of Matthew and John. Once you have done that read Acts and Romans, then even the letters to Corinth.

Every new thing you learn, ask God to help you live it out in your life.

do that to begin with. And remember; question everything ministers say, according to the word of God which you know.

God Bless!!
