I'm not sure about an amount, but I know it's better (blood sugar-wise) to have it with some fiber and fat. So basically natural sugars are best, like fruit and with something like natural yogurt or nuts.

None - all the sugar your body needs can be found in natural foods such as fruits.

Refined sugar is one of the world's most addictive and abused substances. It's put in almost everything you eat, especially in packaged prepared foods. Here's a very short list of foods containing refined sugar =
breads
pastries
soups
canned fruits
meat sauces
(sugar cured) meats
anything that includes "glucose" in the list of ingredients

Your asking the wrong question. You can't diet by watching calories it never works. The way to diet is to eat healthy no more calorie counting. Sugar is not all bad there is sugar in any fruit you eat and it is healthy for you and you will lose weight on a fruit diet. STAY AWAY from refined sugars, and carbs. those are the killers. By the way refined carbohydrates (white enriched flour) turn to sugar in your blood any way. Try the Abs Diet Book it is a healthy approach to dieting.
