People that do stupid things like max their cards and not pay them are the ones that cause the interest rates to go up sky high.
Besides why would you want to leave your family more debt after your gone, they are going to have the expense of burying your butt already!!

No, because my family would be responsible for the debt. Knowing my insurance, I might take out small loan to do some traveling with my kids.

I did have cancer, luckily not terminal. .

Nope, but I'd sure as hell eat, drink and be merry without worrying about putting on a few extra pounds. Since you've posted a hypothetical scenario, in my version I don't need chemo, I don't feel bad, and I can just enjoy myself until I'm gone. I would, however, be very sad, because I'd like to spend more time on Earth to be with the people I love.

tempting, isn't it?
Since you'd not be going anywhere for a while, and you'd be too tired and sick from the chemo, and you'd have bills up to your ears that you'd need to pay, and medications to buy. I would think you'd be more reasonable than maxing out the credit cards. In addition, your spouse or parents would be very angry with you as they may get stuck with your bills.

No, not at all. Attempting to not pay off the debt is premeditated stealing. This would be a violation of the Commandment not to steal, an act condemning the soul to hell upon death.

No, that would leave horrible debt for my family. Although, in reality, they might end up that way because medical treatment is so outrageously expensive

No, I would not burden my loved ones. I would thank God for letting me know that the end is near so I can search my soul for any wrongdoings that I have not righted.

No because all outstanding debts must be paid out of your estate. I'd try to leave as much to my family as I could.
