Here's what I did once that worked fairly well (although I only did it as an experiment to see what the results would be).
For breakfast, I had a bowl of cereal or a granola bar. The cereal I had was whole-wheat total (in a blue box). It has a lot of vitamins and minerals, it's very light, and it has a good amount of fiber as well.
Lunchtime: I usually had a sandwich from subway, a 6-inch meatball on wheat with no chesse, and a water to drink.
For dinner: I would have something light for dinner as well, maybe a salad with oil and vinegar for dressing or a hamburger with no sauce, just some ketchup and lettuce, and, of course, water to drink.
In addition: I would be drinking water the whole day, I'd say at least about 5 or 6 glasses a day, and I would be walking around most of the day while I was at school. I would stop eating about 6 or 7 pm each night, at least about 3 or 4 hours before I went to sleep. The only thing I would consume after that time is water. Don't eat anything greasy or sweet, like french fries of ice cream, at all. You will feel hungry at times, but you have to try to ignore it, because we're usually not used to eating such small portions of food. For exercise, try to do as much walking as you can, and simple exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups are very helpful.
The results: I lost 7 pounds in about a week, and I stopped after that. The results will vary, I'm sure, but it worked for me, so I'm just passing my experience to you. I will say, as a side note, however, that I am not a expert on health or weight-loss, so I don't know about the ramifications of carrying out such a diet, but I would imagine that it would be alright. Good luck to you.

These is no instant cure to lose body fat, if you do try to starve your body will lose lean muscle and store the fat, and you will never get it off. If your body thinks it's starving, it goes in to protective mode and stores fat for later use. The only proper way is a diet of healthy food, portion control, and yes sometimes a cookie or a treat, but don't over do it. Maybe once a week a cheat day, say as in Friday. Then be good the rest of the time with lots of veggies, some meat, some bread. Even stuff like Egg Beaters and low fat English muffins for breakfast, Cottage cheese and fruit for lunch, even a lean turkey sandwich on low. cal bread. You have to do it smart or it won't last, you want to change your way of eating for life, so it will stay off and you will feel better and be healthier. Good Luck.

The best way to lose excess fat is to exercise and eat healthy. First of all, I would say that if you eat junk food, stop it. Also, stick to three meals a day...breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch should be your biggest meal of the day and dinner should be fairly light. Make sure you can digest everything that you eat, cause if you can't, you are adding to the fat. If you get hungry between lunch and dinner, have a piece of fruit or yogurt or some sort of nutritious snack. Have a well balanced meal...and try not to eat out or over eat. Eat about 3/4 of your stomach's capacity.
Along with a good, balanced diet is to exercise. Exercising will help your metabolism, so that you can eat well and not gain weight. Make sure you do some sort of cardio exercise, such as running or playing a rigorous sport, such as soccer. Along with that, do some weight training. Weight training, will help turn the excess fat into muscle.

I'm 5' 7" and I was 122 lbs. (not fat but just had that little layer of "I've had 3 babies" fat. I started my own diet, I don't eat anything with enriched flour, (white flour or wheat flour) and I try to stay away from High Fructose corn syrup and anything Partially Hydrogenated. At the same time I have been using Rice flour, corn flour and Quinoa flour in place of the enriched flour. I also eat more high fiber foods and fresh vegies. Add three days of weights (nothing impressive) and two days of cardio and I am now 110 and my belly is as flat as it was when I graduated High School nearly ten years ago and three children ago! I started this in the beginning of June and I hit 110 at the end of August!
It's really hard for me, but I love cookies! and bread!! Good luck!!!!!

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.
