I would say it should be allowed. It is a move towards liberalism and away from RC church dominance. I believe it is good for a civic society to have laws guided by common sense, not by authoritarian religious organizations (of whatever stripe) to which only some people belong. It's up to Catholics to decide if they oppose divorce for Catholics, but that should be part of the private 'contract' between that Church and its "confirmed" members, not the public contract between the State and the citizenry.

I would say that to follow the church's feelings on this topic in this present world does not really workout. What people against divorce would say are you made a promise and took an oath to remain man and wife, in sickness and in health, and for richer or for poorer. You must stick to the person you married. By not divorcing, you supposedly keep your family especially your kids together. On the other hand, mistakes do happen and people do not find their match. that's the purpose of an annulment but they are very tough to get. If you are constantly fighting and counseling does not work, how does forcing yourself to stay at home help the kids. When it comes to that, I would say divorce should be allowed in the Philippines.

I am not in favor of divorce in the Philippines because it's so far to go when you can simply go to Vegas. Do you have any more irelevant questions? Cheese!

What is the point of divorce anywhere? So you can go start over and do it all again with someone else? Divorce is the lazy way out. As you can see Laziness is rampant in the US!
