AutoCad 2007 is just the improve version of previous AutoCad releases. You must learn the basics of AutoCad as well as its environment. Refer to your AutoCad manual, or ask someone who knows how to use it to teach you personally.
You can execute commands in AutoCad in two ways;
1. by clicking the command button, that is like using MS Office
2. by typing commands (e.g. to draw a line you can type the word line or simply type l).

AutoCAD is probably one of the most powerful and most complex program for Computer Assisted Design.
I have worked with it for over 20 years... and STILL discover functions I never used!
The tutorials included MAY help you a bit, but my advice is simple:
- Get someone experienced with it,
- Make a plan of WHAT you want to do (a house, a machine, a 2D drawing, a 3D drawing or whatever...)
- Ask him/her to guide you through it.
After a while, you will get the hang of it.
BTW: make sure, also, that you are a good DRAFTSMEN before hand, otherwise, you will only get rubbish out of it...
Autodesk also provides courses, but they are expensive, and only in US.

I will advise you go for a tuition or quick part time courses for this.

Otherwise, if you are young enough and learning skill is not a problem, i guess you may start with mastering the following command.

Line, Lintetype, Plot, Trim, Erase, Circle,Fillet, Chamfer, putting in coordinate and layers and explode and hatching and scaling

This could be useful for you as a primary startup and is an everydays need command.

You need just a nodge.
Someone to teach you the basic commands and show you some
moves like 2d and 3d operations .
When you've got the basis you are ready to explore on your own.
