Uhhhh It does seem that way . . .
Perhaps it's because of what their leaders say that makes muslims appear to be intollerant . . .
In Iran, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used the comments to call for protests against the United States. He argued that while the pope may have been deceived into making his remarks, the words give the West an "excuse for suppressing Muslims" by depicting them as terrorists. "Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said, referring to the United States.
(Hmmm. . . Let's see now . . . If someone "Depicts muslims as terrorists" then they should be "Targeted with attacks and protests." ~~~~ I think I get the picture.)
Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross," saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the 'jizya' tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword."
(Hmmm . . . "Convert or get your head cut off with a sword" ~~~I think I get the picture.)
"You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism, when God's rule is established governing all people and nations," said the statement by the Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups in Iraq.
(Hmmm. . . "Infidels and despots will get their necks chopped" ~~~ Yes, I am sure I get the picture now. )
Or perhaps it the reaction to comments of a man make it seem that they are intollerant . . .
So far, protests over the pope's comments have been smaller. However, there has been some violence: Attackers hurled firebombs at seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over the weekend, and a nun was shot to death in Somalia.
(Hmmm, Where in the qu'ran does it say to shoot unarmed women if they are not muslim? ~~~ Yes, the picture is completely clear now.)

Yes, but you can only say it if you mention in the same breath how aweful christians are. Otherwise you'd be POLITICALLY INCORRECT. Oh, dear, we wouldnt want that.
God forbid the pope quote a 400 year old article, but it's perfectly acceptable to burn down churches in response.
Tell me, how many mosques have been burned down, how many suicide bombings have occured, how many hostages have been taken by christians or any other non-middle easterner in response to the atrocious crimes commited by those of the islamic faith?? The numbers don't compare.
People, WAKE UP, your condoning senseless violence and hate crimes all in the name of political-correctness. White christians are not to blame for everything. Open your eyes and help stop the violence.

That's not fair...It all depends on how you are raised. All Muslims are not the same: just as no Christians, Jews, Hindus, or Atheists are the same. You can not believe everything you see on the 9 oclock news. I have many friends of all religions, including Muslims and they are just like you and me. They are not the deranged terrorists you see on tv burning stuff...This is just how society wants them portrayed so it looks like they are all the enemy...That way Bush looks like a hero and the War looks justified...neither of which are true.

Terrorists can be ignorant or smart, but those being recruited to blow themselves up do not show very much intelligence. Those that burn up stuff I personally believe are urged by their religous leaders
We as christians are urged by our scriptures to leave vengence in the Hebrew's God hands. The book of Revelation says that the Messiah is coming back and He will take care of the enemies of the jews who come against Israel..

you are a victim of propoganda my friend. you are assuming things. probably because of things you have read and seen on t.v. there are certain christians who blow up abortion clinics. does that make christians ignorant and intollerant. organized religion is dangerous and i am puzzled at how easily people let others dictate their thoughts. think for yourself.
