Yet when an Arab Leader. or Muslim Holy man outright threatens christians with death, we the christian world/people sit back and smile??

Because Muslims are very very touchy , to say the least, about anything that remotely resembles criticism of their religious beliefs. Especially nowadays. That they're (sometimes) so violent about it, ironically only makes them look worse overall, but, it's just the way some of them in some of the Muslim majority countries are. As for part 2 of the question; I think it's because we are , for the most part, people who respect freedom of speech , and also perhaps more importantly we know most of their threats are idle and empty as usual.

Because they hate us and want to destroy us - by any and all means possible. They will not stop until they have done so. The past is irrelevant. They will use that as an excuse if it furthers their cause, but it is still irrelevant. They are going to all-but take over the world, and then the Lord is going to come and destroy them all. Then His Kingdom shall reign forever and ever (amen).

the pope said nothing... he quoted an Christan emperor that Islam only bring violence...................looks like they haven't changed.
obviously that this is such a bad thing they can protest but when Sudanese Muslims kill 65 000 Christians it doesn't matter
