I know their bible tells them to tell everyone about god and tell them about false religons. However for "the" christians that are trying to force their religon on people when its unwanted, don't you/ they know it's rude?
Everyone have's a right to believe in what ever they want too and they should respect other peoples right to do the same. Don't tell me that I should stay out of the religion section If I don't want to hear it. Cause 1.) There are more religions then one. 2.) I don't even have to be in this section and I still get hate mail from some of the Christians on here.
I know about the bible I just choose not to follow it cause I don't believe in it. That is my right, so there is no need to tell me about God or that I am going to hell cause I don't belive in it therfor I don't care to hear it.

"kujigafy" I don't have a problem with ALL chiristian I have a problem with the ones who want people to respect their religion but show no respect for other people, and always try to push their religion on people when its unwanted.

"regina p" What I am talking about is when they always got to try to convert people. When people tell them " I am not interested I already know about God and I choose to not belive in god" they keep talking saying things like "your going to hell",." You need god in your life". "you should go to church and pray for help".
I have ministers in my family and they don't try to push their religion on anyone.

well, you know, I always make sure that the person that i'm talking to is open to talking about spiritual things before I share the gospel with them, otherwise I won't worry about it. Its a good way to make sure you don't offend people.

As a Christian I respect all people who are created in God's image. But as to respecting their beliefs that's different. You may think that it is "rude" but consider this analogy and I hope you will see that it's very loving to risk getting put down and told off to tell people the truths revealed in the Bible.
Imagine if some people bought some property and they dug a well on it and it was a beautiful well and they though that it was a great benefit to them and they enjoyed sharing the water from their well with all of their friends.
Now imagine that you lived nearby and knew that because of past mining operations in the area all of the well water was contaminated with lead and mercury and that eventually people who continued to drink from a well would get sick and die a painful death. You went over and tried to warn the people but they didn't believe you and got upset that you would try to say anything bad about their beautiful well. Should you just shrug your shoulders and say
"Oh well, I tried to warn them but they didn't want to believe me. Besides that they were pretty rude and told me to go away and quit bothering them because they believed that their well was just fine and they didn't want to hear any more of my nonsense. So I guess I'll just forget about it and when they get sick and die that's just too bad for them. That's what they deserve anyway for not believing me and being so smart and calling me names."
That's what a lot of people would do, but the love of Christ in me constrains me from acting in such a manner. I wouldn't be rude and "push my beliefs" on them but I would certainly continue to try and reason with people in a polite way and pray for them so that they won't face an eternity of hopeless, Christ-less, suffering.

Christianity is an exclusive religion. It makes the claim that it is the only true religion there is, so by it's very nature it is intolerant. Christians unapolegetically admit that they are intolerant. Christians cannot be true to themselves as Christians unless they are intolerant. Christians however should love others in spite of what they believe.
Second, it seems that tolerant people are intolerant of those who are intolerant. That seems to be inconsistent with tolerance. If I was tolerant, then I could care less about Christians who want to share their religion with me.

I don't force Christianity on anyone, but the truth is that God says it's not ok for people to believe what they want.
The very first commandment tells us not to have other gods.
I don't tell other people what to believe, but I do tell them how to be saved. If they don't want to listen, that's their problem.

Sorry to hear that some Christians are harassing you. I'm Christian, but I could find out someday that Hinduism or Islam is really the truth.
The only ideas I might be tempted to push on other people concern things like human rights, common sense, things that don't have anything to do with religion.

I am christion and alot f my friends arn't. I really dont think it makes a difference what religion you are or if you arn't any at all. If people judge it is wrong so just carry on in life and remember not all christions think that and most people will back you up. Religion is like clothes you pick what souts you.

God is God no matter what you think of Him.
I respect your choice, so does God.
He does not want to be separated from you, but He gives you a chice. I do not know any better form of love than with a choice.
He will respect your choice. Use it wisely. If you do not want to be with God after you die, you do not have to.
I believe that the Bible is God's life manual for me. I did not create this world so I do not have many demands. I submit to my Lord.

i dont really care what you want to be - it sounds like you have a problem w/ christians though.
edit- i am actually very respectful other people's beliefs - i think it is extremeley disrespectful to make broad, sweeping assumptions about a large group of people and their beliefs. for the people who speak about christians in this vein, try substituting the terms "african american" or "mexican" or "Jew" everywhere you refer to christians and see how ignorant and biggoted you sound.
edit2 (for asker) - my first edit wasn't so much for you as for certain other people here; but fyi, you didn't qualify that it was "some christians" when you posted; you merely said :Why can't Christians respect other peoples beliefs?" and referred to "their bible tell them...," and "thy should respect..." etc. but if you're making the qualification now, i appreciate it.

well because they dont feel they need to. they beleive their beeifs are absolutely correct (and of th highest morality) and anyone who thinks differently is a horrible ugly person. look at what their bible says, it says that anyone who does not beleive in god is a fool and they do no good things.
they dont respect others beleifs because they hate them (my opinion)
funny since they get all pissy when others dont respect theirs. they slap on a confused look as if they have no idea why someone would say certain things about their beleifs.

Muslims also do not respect any other religions. Others are infidels and shall be butchered by swords or nuclear bombs in the future.
All semantic religions with one book and one prophets never ever respect other beliefs. They may however pretend peace with others, if they are less in number
