Synmalegrix please just go back under your rock and shut up. You do not know the circumstances of how he met his wife. Your total lack of compassion just shows how one track minded people are becoming with immigration issues.

Now as far as the question it usually takes 6 months to a year, at least it took that long for my brother. Mexico's bureaucracy puts the US's to shame when it comes to things like this.

The BP cant do a darn thing. There are cases where border guards were thrown in jail and are facing 15+ years cuz they were doing their job and a sp!c got hurt, ran home to their embassy and filed charges. Sp!c got a nice settlement. The guards are scared, they are armed, but not allowed to shoot for fear of prosecution. They might as well let them stand there waving welcome flags and handing out maps to the nearest Home Depot and welfare office! The sad part is the US govt is doing nothing to help them. For some reason the politicians WANT illegals here and would rather throw border guards in jail than send the spics back where they belong. If u take all the illegals that come from Mexico in 1 year, and they would band together, they would have enough force to revolt and change their own govt. We have helped other countries become democracies, why not Mexico? If they could replace the corruption with democracy, maybe they would stay home where they belong and quit trying to turn our country into Mexamerica.

No that isn't the truth. What I understand is the truth is that even with family, there is a quota on how many can come each year, though it is higher than the normal quota. It also detracts from the normal quota. What that means is that since there are so many from Mexico here applying to bring family it uses up the normal immigration quota, pretty much, plus the line is longer than from some other countries where very few family visas are requested.

I can't vouch for that for certain, but I have read that, and it seems to make sense.

Contact all of your state and federal congress people. You might also check around to see if you community has any new media outlets that help people with problems (and will sometime put the information on the radio or TV to try to help the issue). You might also consider hiring legal help if you find that miight assist you.

The idea is to put some friendly pressure on immigration people. They are busy people and sometimes need a little help to get things through the system.

Good Luck.

Another solution to one of our country's problems...
Bring all our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle, and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.

Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway without the canteen, rifle, or ammo.
Problem solved.

Your wait will probably be from 5 months to a year.Things are volatile right now.Look It sounds like you love your wife is there any way you could go down and stay with her ?Maybe just visit. Its bad for a couple to be seperated like that its hard on you spiritualy.I myself am against illegal aliens but there are certain situations that make it hard.Does she love you?If she does do whatever it takes to be with her.If you cant be with her write her, call just do whatever it takes to keep your marraige strong.

Not knowing the circumstances of your wife's situation - I can't tell you if you need to file a waiver or not. In addition, I'm not sure why your wife was told to leave the US unless she "snuck" through the border. Without more details about your situation, it's fairly difficult to answer your question but you're welcome to e-mail me with details of how your wife entered the US (i.e. tourist, business) etc.

Definitely apply for a waiver. If your wife has been a legal resident in the USA AND she's MARRIED to you (but only if you're a CITIZEN) then, and then only they will bump her to citizenship in a month or less...social security is needed, but not birth certificate. Fight for your rights.

I think the system is backlogged right now, but you can always call immigration and check on her case file.
