Excerpt from the ABC story.

"Speaking in tongues, weeping for salvation, praying for an end to abortion and worshipping a picture of President Bush

-- these are some of the activities at Pastor Becky Fischer's Bible camp in North Dakota,

"I want to see them as radically laying down their lives for the gospel as they are in Palestine, Pakistan and all those different places," Fisher said. "Because, excuse me, we have the truth."

"A lot of people die for God," one camper said, "and they're not afraid."

"We're kinda being trained to be warriors," said another, "only in a funner way."

"It's an absolute, straight-up us-against-them, It's, you're either with us or you're against us. … Not only are you a sinner, but you are working for the enemy -- the enemy being Satan."

Are these Christians terrorists or freedom fighters?

Sounds like they're eager to create their own terrorists because they have "the truth"

TO Las Vegas Steve: you may not worry about Christians in the coffee shop assaulting you but go to Planned Parenthood for any reason (they don't care why your there) and you will get swarmed and have "Jesus is the only way" SCREAMED at you. Funny how there were no Muslims accosting people outside.

okay, well I don't know the whole story and I am sure this "news" report is somewhat biased- (??worshipping a picture of Bush??? If that were the case then these are not true Christians)
So as for the question terrorists or freedom fighters? well- basically the most extreme thing they are doing is praying- do you feel threatened when one prays?? Are you feeling that oyur safety is compromised because someone is praying?? Do you fear for the lives of your children because someone is praying ??
When a Christian talks about being a warrior- they are basically talking about praying, sharing the gospel, worship.
anyone who includes acts of violence and hatred in what they do is not practicing what they preach- BUT as a Christian we cannot be tolerant of sin- we have to hold a standard and wrong is wrong- it is not our place to punish or condemn the sinner- we all are in need of salvation and deliverance- but we are to tell the truth and we are not to compromise on what God call an abomination. So we pray, we intercede for those who have not been told the truth, we ask for strength and courage to share the gospel in a loving and compassionate way, but a way that is not passive and compromising regarding sin. If you are feeling threatened or terrorized because people are praying then all I can say is call me a terrorist! It really is kind of sad

This is just one pastor out of his bearings. Although I agree to a silent campaign of having God take charge, I would prefer to see a Pastor leading his flock to earnestly pray for a peace settlement between warring factions who both claim to be carrying the truth. The real truth of the matter is that this war is not really about God but more about GREED, POWER AND CONTROL in the guise of the God they both serve.

They're neither. They are zealous young people learning to make themselves and their beliefs relevant in a very cynical culture that routinely denigrates their faith.

I applaud their courage and creative energy, whether or not I fully agree with all of their activities, I don't know (the thought of worshiping a picture of Dubya is a little disconcerting.)

But, at least they are young people that will not be ashamed to dialog about what they believe in.

Hoping the best for you...

I can't make a decision on a few excerpts, I have to go read the full story.

People get freaked on the tongues thing - it is not some strange thing but the fact that the apostles were understood in whatever lands they traveled through....not the mumbo jumbo some holy roller churches have created.

They are Children of God. I am sure that they were not worshiping President Bush, just praying for him. Also they are not physically violent, they mean spiritual warfare because we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but with evil spiritual forces. Sounds like they are true Christians to me. How are they either one? Since when does weeping, praying, or babbling incoherently terrorize anyone?

I don't see anywhere in the article that says that they are fighting anyone in a literal sense. Why do you care what they are doing among themselves?
