Or do You ride out the tide; when the first inkling departs? In the morning when all the money's gone, and You don't have the ticket for Your Honey's pawn; should You ride out the tide; On Your Marine Pal Gunny's lawn?

Goodness, you're rhythmic in the questions you lay before us.

Halfway down the stairs
Is a stair
Where I sit.
There isn't any
Other stair
Quite like
It.
I'm not at the bottom,
I'm not at the top;
So this is the stair
Where
I always
Stop.

Halway up the stairs
Isn't up,
And isn't down.
It isn't in the tavern,
It isn't in the town.
And all sorts of funny thoughts
Run round my head:
"It isn't really
Anywhere!
It's somewhere else
Instead!

In your youth, there's a certain truth to the need to ride with the tide and let things slide
not for too long, although it's slow, beginning to grow, the wisdom of age is just over the page
there's no guage or measure to the age where leisure moves aside and pleasure runs away with leisure

i drink so much
I'm out of touch
if i just drink
no need to think
it hurts my brain
and gives me pain
to think a thought
which leads to naught
so drink and drink
until you sink
onto the floor
then drink some more
