I DID do drugs as a teenager, and I HAVE told my kids about it. I made up my mind long ago to try to be as honest with them as possible. I had no one to talk to about stuff when I was young, and I wanted to make sure my kids could come to me about ANYTHING. Sometimes they tell me more than I really want to know, but I want them to know they can come to me. About drugs, or anything else they need to talk about.

No way , If you do that their likely to think, well If my mom and dad did that and I turned out normal , and their OK so whats the big deal . I might as well try it. Give them an example of some one you know that had a really bad experience. That really sinks it in their brain that everything we tell them about the dangers of drug use is true.

I have one son out of school and two still in High School, and yes I did tell my children that I tried Pot, and Drank. I was honest with them. We talk about everything. They do not do drugs or drink. I told them how I did it because I thought it was the cool thing to do, all my friends were doing it. I don't worry about them doing drugs, I trust them. And that matters to them.

NO whatever you do don't tell them because then they will think "oh my mom did drugs and she ended up fine" and then they may think that they can do them and turn out fine.I have done some experimenting in my day, but i would not ever tell my kids

First, hopefully your children are of an acceptable age to be talking about this (jr high/high school age). Second, yes I would tell them and I would tell them what a horrible mistake it was to try them. Just because you turned out just fine doesnt mean that everyone who tries drugs will turn out just fine as well.

I wouldn't tell them, unless you had some horror story to share to prove how bad they are for you.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Saying you did it is like saying it's okay, everyone does it.
However, if you battled a serious addiction, I think that's a worthwhile thing to mention.
