What do the 5 bars on the top of my watch mean?

I have a watch made by q&q and there are 5 random bars at the top that seemingly randomly switch every second or so. When I use my stopwatch they seem to spaz out really fast. Does anyone know what they are used for?

they measure 1/5th of a second. that is why they spaz. good watch, by the way. its just a minor details for show.
