The way that you ask the question is rather making a broad generalization and is misleading. A better way to ask would be "Why did those Muslims kill those nuns in Somalia?"
The answer is ignorance. Lack of knowledge of their own religion. Those ignorant misled extremists are an embarassment to true Muslims everywhere. May Allah guide them to the straight path.

Maybe because of what their leaders say that makes muslims kill. . .
In Iran, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used the comments to call for protests against the United States. He argued that while the pope may have been deceived into making his remarks, the words give the West an "excuse for suppressing Muslims" by depicting them as terrorists. "Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said, referring to the United States.
(Hmmm. . . Let's see now . . . If someone "Depicts muslims as terrorists" then they should be "Targeted with attacks and protests." ~~~~ I think I get the picture.)
Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross," saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the 'jizya' tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword."
(Hmmm . . . "Convert or get your head cut off with a sword" ~~~I think I get the picture.)
"You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism, when God's rule is established governing all people and nations," said the statement by the Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups in Iraq.

Or it might be that the comments of a man forced them to do it . . .
So far, protests over the pope's comments have been smaller. However, there has been some violence: Attackers hurled firebombs at seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over the weekend, and a nun was shot to death in Somalia.
(Hmmm, Where in the qu'ran does it say to shoot unarmed women if they are not muslim? ~~~ Yes, the picture is completely clear now.)

I do not know exactly what is its cause. .If it is a fact I think they are a misled muslims..I think there were only a few of muslims who killed nuns in Somalia.They were lost or wandered a real Islamic teaching which should love and help others.They were tempted by satans. so they made a violence and wrong doing.They do not know the essence of islamic teaching which is peaceful and forgiveful.But I convince the misled muslims have a reason for killing nuns.

yes so if we shouldnt put a blame for ones actions then how come they killed the nun for the actions of Pope Benedict.. bless be the soul of the nun and let she enter eternal life...

Evidently their religion does not teach tolerance of others beliefs. And those Muslims who would say, those who did it are a radical faction and do not represent all Muslims, are very tolerant of their own heathen murderous brothers.
