For a perfect soft-boiled egg, place your egg (room temperature, for best results) in a pan of cold water. Bring it to the boil and once boiling, time for exactly 3 minutes. I like to immediately run them under cold water, this helps to ease the peeling process. Good luck!
Ps. If you ever have the desire for hard-boiled eggs, use the same steps, just change the cook time to 10 minutes.

Half Boiled Egg Timing

2016-12-28 15:56:33 · answer #2 · answered by rizwan 3 · 0 0

Its depends on the size of the egg. If say a AA egg, mug with cover and boiling water, you need 5-6 mins. Water must be half of the mug for 2 AA egg. If you use the biggest size like AAA egg, then you might need 8-9 min to cook. All the best. Let me know if you need more info. This is for half boiled eggs and not hard boiled eggs. There is a different!

From the fridge; on the counter for only as long as it takes the pot of three - four inches of water boils.

Spoon eggs into boiling water, careful not to drop them and crack the shells. Boil for :
2 eggs - 2 minutes
4 eggs - 3 minutes
6 eggs - 4 minutes

and then turn off the element. Do not move the pot; allow eggs to sit in the hot water in the pot on the cooling element for 12 minutes. I set my timer. Remove from heat; rinse with cool water. Spin. Crack. You will never have a grey yolk again, yellow only. Try it now - it won't take that long. You will never over boil an egg again.

Hello Asit, I have a friend in England who has lots of chickens. While visiting him and his family I learned a way that works! Put a dash of apple cider vinegar in your water along with a few pinches of salt. Then bring the water to a boil. Once the water is boiling add the eggs and count out 5 minutes. Then remove one egg and crack it open to see if they are as you desire. If too soft then leave them in for another minute or so. Then remove, rinse and peel. They will peel rather easy and are soft too.
Hope this helps, Ammo

eggs at room temp for a hard boiled egg you boil it 15min half boiled would be half of that..if you want the yolk in the middle lay the carton on it's side 30 min before boiling the egg.
