Ohh how quickly we forget..........the war in Kosovo where people from all these nations fought and died to protect Muslims!
It is not the religion that is attacked but countries, just because that country is majority Muslim it does not mean that Islam as a faith is attacked. That is doctrine that is forced on you by your priests.
Why do Muslim attack Muslim, Kurds are Muslim's attacked and killed by Sunni’s (sorry if I spelt that wrong), Sunni's kill and attack Shi-ites and vice versa, Wahahbi's just tend to fight with anybody if they don’t agree with them - sort your own household out before you accuse your neighbour!

First of all, Islam has its origins in violence. A prophet who used a sword to spread the word of GOD? I don't think so, nor do most of the people in the world. If the Muslims cannot reign in their fundamentalists soon, the rest of the world will have no choice but to defend itself. And that would mean the rounding up of every last Muslim on the planet. These narrow minded people are pushing the world to a war of religion, and let me be perfectly clear in saying that no-one will be siding with the Islamic faith except Muslims, and then probably not all of them.
As for the Pope's remarks, do you even know the context in which the words were spoken? My guess is a resounding NO.

Hey, not every Islamic person is a damned terrorist, you know, anymore than Geoffrey Dahmer was an average white guy.
The middle-east is war torn because of the Oil. If not for that single commodity we wouldn't even bother with that part of the world. What, we're there to "force peace"? What a paradox. The West loses ground with every Muslim killed, sunni or shiite or what-ever. That's someone's brother or father. Do you think they'll forget it?
Why is islam attacked? Because God, in his wisdom, put the Oil for all the greedy western powers under Islam. I'm not even a muslim, but if there's a clear reason for the conflict that's happened over and over again, it's that. Battle for resources and the conflict of ideologies that are fundamentally incompatible.

Islam isn't attacked. It seems that everyone else is physically attacked (by Muslim extremists, Jihadists, Terrorists, whatever) and furthers a negative view of Islam by non-Muslims. If everyday in the papers there were unprovoked killings by Christians or Jews or Budhists against everyone else with car bombs, suicide bombs, declarations of war (Jihad), burning of effigies of your leaders, burning of your flag, taking hostages of your countryman, etc...then perhaps you would have a somewhat negative view of the religion that seemed to spawn all of the brutes commiting all of these acts. That is the case as it appears to me. Perhaps there are something like 4 billion Muslims in the world, but the 500,000 or so that seem to be continually committing violent and brutal acts tarnish the good name of the remainder who seem oddly silent or supportive of the acts.

because the devil works in many ways in which unfortunatly muslims have fallen pray to and have forgotten taht islam is a religion of peace. so when others say bad things or bring up a bad history, they go beserk and seem to want to kill everybody....making statments seem true. what religioin had no bad history? onehave to accept the truth and the fact and live on and try to be better.
if islam is peaceful, then why do so many want to kill? islam is being tested by the devil adn they are showing the world how they are failing this test.

The whole world sees the insanity of a religion that claims to be one of peace yet is filled with violence, fear, hatred, anger and control. They see that a religion that controls the politics and the violence is wrong and harmful to the whole world. The whole world is only protecting their own people... from violence, war and jihad that is delivered by ignorant easly swayed people who will not listen to the truth.
