I live in NYC, and I will have a date with a girl on the 30th. I'm not sure where to bring her. Something simple that I can get to know her more. Don't want something too crazy to scare her away. Please help - I really don't want to mess it up. I haven't had a date for a long time, and I don't know the tricks anymore.

Unfortunately, I suck in bowling and pool. I'm only good at swimming, basketball and ice skating... =(

Okay, I don't live in NYC, but have visited (loved it by the way).
If you know of a nice place for dinner - doesn't have to be any place real spectacular, just something casual and comfortable and then an evening boat trip to look at the city lights. I found that incredibly comfortable and very easy to talk and get to know someone else a lot better. There were things to look at if there was a lull in the conversation - or things to talk about that we saw.
Just an idea, without knowing what either of you are like, but I really enjoyed that evening by far the most of my time there and it didn't cost and arm and a leg.

there are no tricks
just be you and be honest, take her to a nice restaurant, find out what she likes, MOVIES is a bad idea, there is no way to talk during a movie.
Don't do anything competitive on the first date, unless you think it'll work out ok, dinner is a good conversational venue, but nothing too crowded
Maybe if she likes baseball go to a Ball game or something

Roxy Deli on Times Square. great place to talk, and great food, non-threatening casual atmosphere is great for first date. She'll be surprised by the laid back casualness, impressed that you don't appear desperate. Good Luck

find out if she's the romanitic type: if so, take her to a candlelight dinner and a chick flick(hey if u like her, ur willing to make the sacrifice) if shes adventorous: maybe go rockclimbing or something! find out (from her or her friends) what she likes to do!!GOOD LUCK!!

Personally I wouldn't want to be taken to the movies b/c you can't talk. Take her to dinner.

When you met you will know if you like her or not and if she likes you it really doesn't matter what you do.................if the attraction is their so is the mood and you wont scare her away............
