Perhaps because they are part of the problem? The violent and brutal protests by Muslims seems to always be at the urging of their clerics. It seems these clerics have a secret agenda or a power rush from being able to command a group of followers to go out and burn effigies of US or Catholic leaders.
All I can think of is that at some point, some of us will say enough is enough and start doing the same in return. When you see effigies of the Ayatollah being burned in America, and people demanding a Crusade in response to the daily calls for Jihad, then perhaps some of their worst accusations will come true.
I noticed I have been given negative votes. Yes, there are Muslim clerics who speak out against terrorism. However, there are also many clerics that are urging their followers to commit these acts of violence towards Americans, Christians, Jews....non-Muslims. It is a fact that the violent protests are backed by Muslim clerics (I did not say all clerics). I would conclude that there are violent sects within Islam. To deny this is to be prejudiced and biased in favor of Islam. The bad nuts in this religion are being taught these beliefs.
When will you stop them?

surprising to pay attention you state which you're feeling that way. I could ask however, no longer some time past i replaced into observing British Muslims marching in London with indications that mentioned, Britain the subsequent Muslim united states of america, Blessing the Martyrs that killed unbelievers, and loss of life to all zionists, and so on..and so on... the place have been the Muslims that condemn those strikes? Why did I no longer no longer see one Cleric or Muslim protecting an illustration that mentioned the terrorists are murderers. you won't have self belief what they do, yet no person in the Muslim community is taking an energetic stance against them publically the two.

That is because western media doesn't show our backlash. Just this month we had the ISNA (Islamic society of North America) convention in chicago and we have been going against terrorism, calling what they do unislamic and doing everything we could. We've been doing this BEFORE 9/11.
One of the first leaders to call the US after 9/11 was (the then) Iranian president who said these actions were unislamic and would give its resources to help.
We will not apologize for 9/11 or any terrorist activities BECAUSE THAT MEANS WE ARE SOMEHOW RESPONSIBLE. The "terrorists" do not represent us.
But we will continually denounce terrorism because that is AGAINST Islam.
***For those that wish to continue spreading misinformation about Islam (like quoting out of context Quranic verses) UNDERSTAND YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING AL-QAEDA IS DOING. THEY MAKE THE SAME ARGUMENTS AS YOU!
How does it feel to think like a terrorist?

Muslim clerics SHOULD criticize terrorist actions.
And you know what? The overwhelming majority of them do.
Why don't we hear their condemnation? Do we not want to hear it for fear that it will force us to deal with our prejudice against Muslims?
Or is it because planes slamming into buildings draw our attention more than a thousand Imams saying violence has no place in Islam?
Sometimes it is hard to see the compassion amidst the hate, but it is there. If we took the time to exerience true Islam, we would know what a great religion it is, and why there is a need to defend it against false statements.
peace

Just as in western families..there are social, political ,and religous discussions that go on all the time within their framework. It is so much easier to go with the flow without the problems of dissent within and outside of this framework..Most people that live in a society that frowns upon dissention of the norn are subject to the worst kind of ridicue and stigna..Fear and being seen as an outcast radical is not very healthy in these type enviroments..Also ignorance and lack of education tend to play into these type opinions..A good example would be the pesident of Iran saying that the pope was only quoting a statement rather than believing it himself, would be political suicide..The jockying for power in the muslum world is not much different than in western cultures

well when the Pope decides to speak against the "crusades" instead of boasting about it then maybe the muslim clerics will take on that same approach.
I do believe jesus said "I come to you with a sword and not peace". NEW testament. look it up.

I read the answer by readkoran and I really liked it. I didn't click on the site he or she mentioned, but I like what readkoran wrote.
I'm not Muslim and I don't know the Koran, but I respect people who want peace. I have met at least 1 Muslim woman and 2 Muslim men who were very kind to me.
Thank you, readkoran.

They condem it left and right, but do you think the American news covers it? There are lectures, seminars, talks, shows, radio confrences, public speaches, EVERYTHING about Moslem leaders condemming terrorism, but your american media WANTS PEOPLE to think the moslems dont care about that or that they are encouraging it.
It's not their fault that the american media doesn't cover any of this. This is what is refered to as propganda. It's not lieing to you, its hiding the truth which is just as bad if not worse.
Ask any moslem, "Do you support the terrorist actions?"
I'll 100% gaurantee you it'll be "No" If he/she is a real moslem and not some hooha fake moslem.
