When somebody says they're measurements like 36-24-36 or something like that, I know they are refering to inches, but what do they mean? Where are they measuring? Give me a detailed explanation of where they measure.

chest-waist-hips
around the fullest part of chest. just above the belly button for waist and the fullest part of your butt around your thighs for your hip measurment.
FYI 36-24-36 isn't a realistic measurment for the majority of the population... don't look to this to be the "ideal" for you!!! check on webmd for your HEALTHY size or the link below.

36-24-36 the first 36 measures about bust line. 24 means waist line the other 36 is the hips line.

36-24-36 are the measurements used for barbie. A more realistic one would be:
36 inches around the chest.
27 inches around the waist
36 inches around the hips

if their bust line is 36" they measure around the body with the tape measureer on the top of their nipples. waist of 24" is at the line around body at the belly button level. hips are 36" at the pelvic bone level of both sides.
