36-24-36 the first 36 measures about bust line. 24 means waist line the other 36 is the hips line.

36-24-36 are the measurements used for barbie. A more realistic one would be:
36 inches around the chest.
27 inches around the waist
36 inches around the hips

if their bust line is 36" they measure around the body with the tape measureer on the top of their nipples. waist of 24" is at the line around body at the belly button level. hips are 36" at the pelvic bone level of both sides.

It is an unrealistic size for most people.
