A great lunch would be what I call a "turkey roll up".
You take some turkey cold cuts (the kind from the deli, not pre-packaged) and you put on a large tortilla wrap. Add grated cheddar cheese, lettuce (preferably dark leaf), tomato, and whatever else you want. you can even take it up a notch with some chipotle sauce. Wrap it all up like a burrito and cut it in half. You have to put this one in the fridge. Add a side of carrot sticks and an apple -- and there you have yummy, filling, cheap, full of protein and really healthy!

Wraps that you make yourself.
Buy some flavored tortilla's such as the tomato basil and add your ingredients. You can do tuna and veggies with a mayo spread or turkey and veggies with a mustard spread. Be creative. Wrap it up tightly in foil and you're good to go.
Soup is always good. Get a thermos and pour boiling water into it and then dump it out before pouring in the hot soup. It will stay hot at least 'til lunch.

I used to brown bag all the time. After making dinner I always put a little of everything aside in a plastic container to bring for next days lunch and heated it in the office microwave. I also kept peanut butter and cracker in the office kitchen if I got hungry and always had fruit or dried fruit and nuts on hand..

I started buying "Lunchables" for my granddaughter's lunches and ended up taking some to work myself. The ones I like are the ones with crackers: ham & cheese, turkey & cheese, etc. No heating required.
A nice Caeser Salad works, too. ( or whatever kind of salad you like.)
Being that you are a male and probably have quite an appetite, these may not be enough, but who knows..... :-)
There's always sandwiches and either fruit or vegies like carrot sticks, celery, etc.

main attractions:
1) Bagles (the frozen Lander's very inexpensive, but good) slice and add cream cheese.
2) Whole wheat toast with sliced turkey and sliced cheese (take mayo on the side so it doesn't get soggy. Get to go mayo's at any self serve fast food joint! Free!)
3) Whole wheat toast with a couple of cold hard boiled eggs and cheese slice.
4) Turkey bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich
5) A nice bowl of pasta salad:
Cook mini penne as directed. About 2-3 minutes before the due time, to the boiling pasta water, add one package of frozen broccoli . Drain the pasta/broccoli mixture in colander then add to the pan you were boiling in to it add sliced black olives, one green bell pepper finely diced, one bunch of parsley chopped and one bunch of green onions chopped. then add olive oil and the juice of a fresh lemon. Mix well.
That can be lunch for about 3 or four (seperated) days
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Side dishes:
*A small bag of baby peeled carrots
*celery and a small container of ranch dip (cheaper if you buy a ranch powder package and mix with a carton of low fat sour cream)
*cauliflowers with the same low fat dip.
*apples
* bananas
* a handful of cashews and raisins
etc
Bon Apetit. Don't listen to the others, Healthy IS delicious.

Well some ideas you could bring are light yogurt, cottage cheese with pineapple chunks, turkey or ham sandwich, pretzels, reduced-fat cheez-its (you can't tell the difference from the regular cheez-its)and of course your choice of fruit and vegetables.

make a pasta salad, use veggie spirals, add carrots, peppers, broccoli etc.(you can use the bags of frozen mixed stir fry veggies, just put in boiling water for a couple minutes, drain rinse in cold water) add chick peas, black beans (rinse) or boiled egg for protein. use your favorite dressing on it. really cheap but good.
another easy fast one is to get whole wheat tortillas, spread with low fat cream cheese and put a slice or two of meat and some lettuce, onion or carrot slivers on it. roll them up and enjoy.

Homemade egg salad -- easy and inexpensive; tuna salad ... easy to make and good by itself or on bread (but don't make the "sammich" 'til you get ready to eat it so it won't get soggy!); carrots w/ a ranch dressing; my favorite sandwich ... extra crunchy p-nut butter, bananas, mayo & raisins; fruit salad you make yourself w/ mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, apples, grapes, raisins, coconut and maybe some granola thrown in at the end. List is endless! Bon appetite!
