No. Man's biggest problem is that he doesn't realize he is god. Stem cell research is just fine.

Why. Not all aspects of stem cell research are playing God. I think Jesus and God give us the ability to think and make decisions to improve this world. To save lives gives him glory. If we can save people with Cancer because of stem cells that is indeed glory to God in the highest. Most stem cells are donated from umbilical cords after birth. If you really do the research, they are not being taken from abortions. I did a lot of research on this topic when my last child was born. My godson's life was saved by the stem cells his mother had saved from the umbilical cord when he was born. I cant believe anyone involved will go to hell for saving that little boys live.

I never really understood the whole concept of "playing God". If we as humans are making new discoveries and living up to our potential, to me that means we are playing man and playing well. The way I see the stem cell issue, the moral argument is the only ammo the opposition has. But those who are for it say it can lead to beneficial, groundbreaking medical marvels and give many people a chance at a better life. If God didn't want of doing stem cell research, he should've averted our need to by preventing people from become injured and ill.

No man, and besides, stem cell research is an idea, not a person, I don't think it CAN be damned to Hell. Stem cell research is used to find cures for diseases. How can that be bad? And aren't stem cells useless anyways?

Do you realize that the embryos which would be used for stem cell research would be "killed" anyway? They are unwanted results of fertilization procedures. When an infertile woman goes in for IVF procedures they fertilize and harvest far more eggs than they will need just in case the procedure has to be repeated. Why should those unused embryos be flushed down the toilet instead of being put to use to cure debilitating diseases?

....also how can you damn a procedure to Hell? I was under the impression that only people could go there.

You know what else is playing God? All the medicine you take. If you get in a car accident? Should you save their lives or let them die? Stem cell research is NOT cloning people or things like that. It is trying to bring people into better health.

I don't see how stem cell research is playing God any more than antibiotics are. Doctors want to use stem cells from embryos discarded by fertility clinics to heal people and make them healthy. How is that bad? If you want to get really pissed about those discarded embryos being used and abused, shut down the fertility clinics who create them. After all, if God wanted those people to have children he would have made them get pregnant, right?

Then you should also ban airplanes, cell-phones, internal combustion engines, computers and medicine of all kinds and descriptions.

Each of those alters fundamental forces of nature. Gravity, radiation, fire, electricity and biology.

Therefore they are playing God and are immoral. People lodged the same dissent about each of those as you are. But I bet you'll continue to live as you do.

So where do you stop? If stem cell research is immoral and should be damned to hell, shouldn't my grandmother's insulin?

Let's thump the bible all the way back to the dark ages, PLEASE. I'd love to see a good stoning.

Dude, a huge number of people don't believe in god. If you don't want to do stem cell research or benefit from its discoveries fine, but stop imposing your religion on everyone else. Judge not, lest ye be judged, jerk.

I believe that scientist can use this research for mankind benefit in many ways. I sure would want this research if I had someone close dying from a disease that could have had a cure. And, I believe that man may be able to create a body, but it is God who creates a soul.
