I was thinking about doing the Jenny Craig diet to loose a couple of lbs. Any success stories out there that might motivate me?

Hi there!

While I have not done it, some clients have. Here is how Jenny Craig works from what I understand.

Jenny Craig markets mainly to women. It is focused on selling program food. It asks members to only eat their food to lose weight. Weight watchers tried this in the past, but decided to stay only on the meeting route.

However, Jenny Craig is a quality franchise that was just bought by Nestle for $600M so something they are doing appears to be working. I believe they don't use meetings (like Weight Watchers) rather a member can contact a counselor on a as needed basis.

The Jenny Craig spokesperson is Kirstie Alley, which gives some some idea into its target market and menu choice.

Participation anonymity is practically guaranteed.

I personally believe that Weight Watchers is better since it really doesn't sell you food anymore. Rather it tries to teach you to eat in the real world, which is what we live in. This prevents some yoyo dieting. The meetings are pretty economical too.

As far as success stories with WW. One of my good friends lost like 20 pounds just overnight using their point system and looks fabulous. Just the WW knowledge here helped her do it.

I have been to these meetings and they are pretty good and supportive. The education they give you is the value proposal.

Keep in mind though that any diet you do requires discipline. If you have the education and self-discipline, the rest is pretty easy.

If you need someone to help you with the weight loss, I will make myself available to get you started.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

I have never done it, but take a look at Kristie Allen (the actress and current spokesperson for Jenny Craig). She lost 75 pounds on that program! I also heard the food was pretty good, so I think it's worth a shot.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but I've heard that most people will lose weight on the program but usually end up gaining it all back after they get off and start eating real food again. If you decide to do it, just keep that in mind. Personally, eating healthy and exercising helped me lose weight and I lost 50 pounds.

I had a friend who lost alot of weight but it was really expensive, so if you have the money it doesn't hurt to try.
