OK Hun this may not qualify as best answer but I'm gonna say it anyway! I'm sorry to hear ya can't have kids, I know to many girls that's what they think they're put on earth for! And that also is why there is so many problems with children today, or it was prolly always like that! I also ain't forgiving men their responsibilities, child raising takes two! As to ya question I think an adopted child would be lucky to have you as a step-mom! Only I think the legal system may frown on you! Cause you don't make $'s to buy the kid toys! Hell my people didn't have $'s OK you may say they didn't raise me right but ya know what I'd say!

At 46 you might want to consider adopting an older child or siblings. There is a great need in this area. These children are shuffled from foster home to foster home and more than anything in the world want someone to commit to be their Mom. They want to be special to someone and loved. Check out some adoption websites. You can't help but fall in love.

I was adopted when I was 8 - I love my mom and yes I know my birth mom also love her to - I am the lucky one I got 2 moms!
I say do It and if you don't want to wait forever get a foster child that has been put up for adoption they need love to not just baby's.
Good luck

I'm sure an adopted child would accept you as a mom. Maybe an infant would be even better as you could experience the full effect of parenthood with the exception of the pain of child birth. And you could teach it you values as well.

MOM means love in heavens' language........ giving birth is an option only...... you know the other options..... dont let the word adoption scare you, there is a child out there just waiting for you..... may I suggest tho, that you have an open mind about an older child ?? they need love too.... and you sound like you would make a special mom....... God bless

Of course an adopted kid would, everyone needs good role models in a home and you seem like you have the interest to be just that.

Of course an addopted child would accept you as a Mom. However, it is a long and expensive process to adopt.

It is great to adopt, you help out a child you may have had a really bad life. You also do something you could not have done before. So go ahead and do it, I herd it is very rewarding.
