i started installing jre frm java.com & also limewire. but a message appears "windows must be in safe mode,or windows installer doesnt installed properly" pls help me out

Something may be wrong with Windows Installer. Go to www.windowsupdate.com and get an updated version of it, along with any other applicable updates.

You can try this trick I learned from a help rep:
1. Open My Documents
2. Create a folder for the new software (example, limewire disk) in My Documents.
3. Press and hold down the Shift key while you insert the CD. Keep holding the Shift key until all lights stop flashing.
3. Open My Computer
4. Open the drive of the CD
5. From the CD, Control+A (this will select all files)
6. Right-cl and Copy
7. Go to the new folder you created, right-click and paste
Eject the CD
Go through the folder you created and locate the setup file. Execute directly from there.

To go to sfe mode you must restart your computer, and while it is starting the computer press f8 and then choose safe mode. It will start your computer in safe mode and then you can do what you want.

first format your machine then you reinstalled windows xp or any other after that you installed javaor etc. etc.
