Yes, it is ,and if you think about it ,isn't it better to have the mother dog spayed BEFORE she gets pregnant,at about 5-6 months of age?But it also may be more humane to have a pregnant dog spayed. The puppies are anaesthetised when the mother is.When her uterus is removed ,the puppies die of suffocation, but because they are under anaesthesia, they feel no pain.To me,this is much more humane than letting the puppies be born, and then at the age of 8 weeks or so ,when homes can't be found for them;taking them to the pound to be gassed or "put to sleep" by having a sharp needle inserted into their tiny veins. The key to ending the abortions and euthanasias of so many animals;both dogs and cats ,is simply to HAVE THEM SPAYED OR NEUTERED, PLEASE!!!!!

Yes but only for licensed veterinarians! The sooner you have it done, the better it is for the momma. They can spay her at the same time they abort the puppies.
We do it all the time at the clinic where I work. I HATE having to do them but my theory is that it is better to abort them early rather than having to euthanize them when they are a few months old because no one wants them.
There are millions of dogs and puppies euthanized in the US every year, so you should not feel bad about doing this. If that is indeed why you asked this question.

it's probably not legal to abort pups since people end up abandoning'em anyways "after" they are born tho. as far as the community/ economy goes... people still have abortions. its reality. sometimes even if you have a place to put the blame, it doesn't resolve any of the issues. so, i believe people should start to take in responsibility for their own health and either be on birth control pills or use condoms. people simply just believe that since you don't see an actual 5 month old picture of the actual baby (meaning they see a glob in the ultrasound instead of the complete formation of the baby) they think its a glob and "not" a baby. so girls mainly have no affects what so ever versus someone having a miscarriage.

It is called a spay. They just charge more if the animal is pregnant or in heat.
Best to wait as it is more dangerous for the mom if she is far along.
Worked at a shelter. They insisted on spaying a mother cat who was due to deliver real soon as she was large. Killed her and all the kittens for a procedure that could have waited.

Vets CAN spay a dog while it is pregnant..so technically the puppies are aborted, and there are NO laws against it.

Unfortunately the vet I used to work for would often spay dogs that he found out were pregnant. A spay is actually a hysterectomy. And most vets are not going to do an ultrasound before a spay to confirm the dog is not pregnant. As for just an abortion, no I don't think vets do that.

Yes, they do it all the time. If a dog goes in for to be spayed and ends up being pregnant, the vet will ask the owner what they want them to do. This happened to my family with our cat.

with mothers dumping their babies in garbage cans and fathers setting fire to their children, i would rather see baby or animal aborted, because in death their is no pain.
