To help those who are less fortunate, those who are unable to care for themselves and to be an advocate for the ones who cant fight for themselves. The work the case to see what someone needs (but sometimes they don’t tell programs so that they are not used up by scammers to the system)

This is also a system that is abused by people who just want to hurt someone (child protective services getting calls to spike a mother because someone wants to hurt them) and also are wasted for those who as illegally getting that help (people lying about their status, lying about money coming in and not claiming it, lying about being a legal American citizen)

People say I should be a social worker but I wouldn’t be a child protective worker because parents attack them. If kids are taken from the home and seeing a messy house as a removal. I can’t just look at the house, but the why of it being like that. People wouldn’t want me to be a food stamp or assistance worker because I would check every bit of everything to make sure they are not lying to the system. I know too many people scamming the DHS (department of human services) they have been reported for the scam, but nothing done to them. Now I would do great in checking for scams. If we did more of that less money would be wasted on people breaking the law. So you see social work has a positive or negative effect.

I once read a sign that said "I don't need a social worker, my social life is fine" But seriously, a social worker is there to help people who are in need. Depending on what the need is depending on the social worker. Mostly mental health and they help teach people to deal with there every day life.

Social work is a "helping" profession and deals with problem solving in human relationships.

Social workers usually work with people that have special disadvantages, such as persons with low incomes, persons with disabilities, elders, and persons with mental illness.

i think it depends on the area of social work. Remember that a person can deal with children, families, wives, and ppl in between. Social workers in general are people who work within the community and specialize in one perticular area on a perticular social group (adults, kids, women...) to help them deal with problems or analyse them or find and report problems.

Basially their job is to fix social errors in our society in a given social group.
