I'm from south U.S. and apparently allot of the things we eat are strange to some people....ranging from something as simple as cornbread and gravy mixed to crocodile and squirrel brains.

Having "Monkey brain soup" was the most unforgettable experience I have in my life. A couple years ago I was vacationing in southern China. One night when out for dinner my friend took to me to a quaint and secluded restaurant. He insisted and dare me to try out the shop specialty namely the monkey brain soup. I reluctantly agreed .so they brought out this live monkey but seemingly tipsy which i was told was already intoxicated with wine. then they skillfully hack its upper part of the head where the brain was located barely spilling out any blood. And the waiter scooped out the monkey brain and put it into a bowl of soup. I could see the blood vessel was still moving. and as i bite the monkey brain tenderly I felt blood vessels rupturing, squirting out bloods in my tongue sending a tingling sensation in my mouth. the feeling was indescribable.

I was in Montana on a short visit and some of the local yokels thought they were being really wise-acres by giving me a plate of "Rocky Mountain Oysters". Well, I knew what they were and ate them and said, "Yum, got any more?" Lol. Their eyes bugged out and I loved it. The joke was on those back woods boys! : )

BTW: they taste like chicken, honest!

The artichoke. I have a lot of respect for the person who first ate one and think of that brave sole every time I eat one.

I've eaten just about everything from fired ants, worms, roaches, mountain oysters, kimshi, to the strangest of all...
monkey brains.
they take a table with a hole in the center, open it & put the monkey under the table, close it around his neck, then lop off the top of the skull with a machete.
you take your spoon and eat, yum

Rabbit, and I seriously did not know it, they said it was chicken and dumblings so I ate a small bowl and later they told me I'd actually ate rabbit, needless to say I got sick and I emptied my stomach..So now I don't eat nobody's dumblings anymore except mine ..Because I know it's chicken..
